This December, candles will shine brighter than twinkling Christmas lights as they illuminate Knox Church and The Gladstone Theatre to set the scene for these mesmerizing concerts. From festive favorites like “Deck the Halls” to the Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack, classically trained musicians will perform all your favorite holiday tunes that never fail to warm the spirit like a warm cup of cocoa on Christmas Eve.

Candlelight Jazz: A Charlie Brown Christmas
Join Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the rest of the Peanuts gang at this magnificent concert paying homage to the iconic A Charlie Brown Christmas holiday special. Released in 1965, the television special has become a holiday staple for many over the last 50 years, and the soundtrack embodies the innocence and excitement of the festive period that we’ve all experienced as kids. From “My Little Drum” to “The Christmas Song”, Rousso Quartet will be performing the cheery tunes that will spark nostalgia and get us all in the festive feels.
Candlelight: Holiday Special featuring “The Nutcracker” and More
Having enchanted audiences for decades, the magic of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker and other beloved holiday songs will be putting concertgoers under a fantastically festive spell in Ottawa this December. A string quartet will be taking on classics Christmas carols including “Hark the Herald Angels Sing”, “The First Noël” and “Deck the Halls” while Knox Presbyterian Church glows from the light of a sea of flickering candles.
This holiday season, prepare to deck the halls, build the snowmen and head to Knox Church and The Gladstone Theatre to experience the magic of Candlelight. As Jack Frost nips at your nose, you can find shelter from the cold in a soothing candlelit setting as talented musicians swoon you with your favorite holiday songs.
Each concert takes place over the course of 60-65 minutes and they’ll be two concerts each evening, one starting at 6:30pm and the later one at 8:45pm.
