The perfect getaway with this weekend’s re-openings!
Only 45 minutes away from Ottawa by car, Quebec’s Chutes de Plaisance is the ideal spot to escape the city’s heat and be immersed in nature. A short 2 km trail, these stunning waterfalls are an accessible outing for all friends and family. One of the most impressive in the area, this waterfall has more than 200ft vertical drop!
Nearby, the shaded trails offer a nice refuge for a picnic and a cool walk between the lookouts. If you want to dip your toes in the water or cool off, there is also a small beach and picnic tables along the trail to relax.
With several viewpoints to get different angles of the water along the trail, this hike alone is beautiful, but the surrounding area of the Chutes de Plaisance also has a really interesting history behind it. If you are interested in discovering the history of the falls and the old nearby village of North Nation Mills, you can follow along with a Heritage Tour here!
