Taking place every night (including holidays) from 5 pm to midnight, this magnificent winter wonderland is spread over 8 km and there will be several spectacular lighting displays scattered throughout the illumination route. Some of the lighting display highlights include the signature Zimmerman Fountain in Queen Victoria Park, the Inukshuk at Dufferin Islands, the hard-to-miss Noah’s Ark next to Niagara Parkway, and, of course, the illumination of the falls.
There will also be many illuminated Canadian wildlife displays including life-sized polar bears, moose, big horned sheep, deer, wolves, and a woolly mammoth.
Don’t forget your cameras! This festival is an excellent opportunity to snap some gorgeous winter shots.
Oh, and did we mention… entry to the majestic festival is completely free! There is no admission fee, but donations which are used to enhance the festival are accepted at the exit of Dufferin Islands — recommended $5–$10 per car and $1 per person on bus tours.
This is one of the few annual events that hasn’t been cancelled yet by COVID-19. Normally attracting over one million visitors from around the world annually, this year’s edition is likely going to have fewer visitors than previous years due to the global pandemic.
Don’t miss out on seeing the Niagara Falls area transformed by millions of sparkling lights with a majestic winter backdrop!
