Along the canal or in our beautiful parks, there’s no shortage of locations that show off the beautiful fall foliage.

1. Mer Bleue Conservation Area
One of Ottawa’s amazing Green Belt trails , the Mer Bleue Conversation Area is a stunning walk. This beautiful bog trail with boardwalks and incredible views is perfect at this time of year for viewing fall foliage.
2. The Dominion Arboretum
The Arboretum, right in the heart of Ottawa, is a beautiful spot all year, but it really shines in the fall. It’s a massive outdoor space with thousands of different trees and plants, making it a perfect spot to admire the changing colour of the leaves in Ottawa. Settle down overlooking Dow’s Lake and watch the leaves glow in the light.
3. Major Hill’s Park
A classic spot in Ottawa to relax in the park, you can’t go wrong with a day spent laying among the trees in Major Hill’s Park. It’s pretty special seeing all the oranges and reds with the Parliament buildings tucked right behind.
4. Rideau Canal
Take a stroll or a relaxing bike ride under the canopy of trees that line the canal. The changing fall colours are really spectacular along the water.
5. Ottawa River Pathway
The dream location for an afternoon bike ride through the forest. The Ottawa River Pathway is a fantastic stretch of the brightest fall colours the city has to offer. Truly magical.
6. Gatineau Park
This beautiful park simply had to make this list. Spend a day exploring the numerous trails, set up a picnic along the lake and savour a warm fall day in the forest. Can you believe those reflections?
